چکیده

This paper presents an efficient and reliable Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithm for solving Reactive power optimization including voltage deviation in Power System. Voltage deviation is the capability of a power system to maintain up to standard voltages at all buses in the system under standard conditions and under being subjected to a disturbance. Reactive power optimization is a complex combinatorial programming problem that reduces power loses and improves voltage profiles in a power system. To overcome this shortcoming, a multiobjective particle swarm optimization is proposed and applied in reactive power optimization on IEEE-30 bus, Here the RPO problem has been formulated as a constrained multi-objective optimization problem by combining of two objective functions (real power loss and voltage profile improvement) linearly shows that the particle swarm optimization more effectively solve the reactive power optimization problem in power system.

Solution of Multi-Objective optimal reactive power dispatch using pareto optimality particle swarm optimization method

For multi-objective optimal reactive power dispatch (MORPD), a new approach is proposed where simultaneous minimization of the active power transmission loss, the bus voltage deviation and the voltage stability index of a power system are achieved. Optimal settings of continuous and discrete control variables (e.g. generator voltages, tap positions of tap changing transformers and the number of...

Optimal Capacitor Allocation in Radial Distribution Networks for Annual Costs Minimization Using Hybrid PSO and Sequential Power Loss Index Based Method

In the most recent heuristic methods, the high potential buses for capacitor placement are initially identified and ranked using loss sensitivity factors (LSFs) or power loss index (PLI). These factors or indices help to reduce the search space of the optimization procedure, but they may not always indicate the appropriate placement of capacitors. This paper proposes an efficient approach for t...

Multiobjective Optimal Power Flow Using Particle Swarm Optimization

Power system must be operated in such a way that both real and reactive powers are optimized simultaneously. Reactive powers should be optimized to provide better voltage profile as well as to reduce system losses. The four objectives of minimization of fuel cost, minimization of emission, minimization of losses and increasing stability by minimizing system stability index, these are conflictin...

Simultaneous RPD and SVC Placement in Power Systems for Voltage Stability Improvement Using a Fuzzy Weighted Seeker Optimization Algorithm

Voltage stability issues are growing challenges in many modern power systems. This paper proposes optimizing the size and location of Static VAR Compensator (SVC) devices using a Fuzzy Weighted Seeker Optimization Algorithm (FWSOA), as an effective solution to overcome such issues. Although the primary purpose of SVC is bus voltage regulation, it can also be useful for voltage stability enhance...
